Laboratorio Central Oficial de Electrotecnia (LCOE)
From our beginnings, in 1949, until today, the raison d’être of the Laboratorio Central Oficial de Electrotecnia (LCOE) is to offer a complete and quality service to the industry providing our know-how and technical experience in terms of testing, measurements and inspections in the electrotechnical field.
The LCOE belongs to the FFII (Foundation for the Promotion of Industrial Innovation), a private non-profit foundation created in 1992 at the School of Industrial Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Madrid
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE LCOE:
In 1949, the LCOE was created as an Electrical Verification Laboratory, and later the Calibration, High Voltage, Automotive, Household Appliances and Lighting laboratories were added. In 1989, RELE accreditation was obtained (prior to ENAC) for Low Voltage testing. In the following years, different international recognitions were obtained (CCA and IEC/CB agreements) and ENAC accreditation was extended to other fields within the LCOE.
In 1992, the legal status was changed to Foundation, and the Foundation for the Promotion of Industrial Innovation was created.
Due to the needs of the service, the LCOE expanded its facilities, first by adding the Getafe I headquarters (C/ Diesel, 13) and then the Tecnogetafe headquarters, where the Low Voltage and EMC laboratories, among others, are currently located.
At present, we are still in full activity offering service to the industry and expanding our testing capacity with new fields in the automotive, railway, electromedicine, etc. sectors.
