Laboratorio Central Oficial de Electrotecnia (LCOE)

Laboratorio Central Oficial de Electrotecnia (LCOE) celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2022.

From the beginning until today, our raison d’être has been to offer a complete and quality service to the industry by providing our know-how and technical experience in testing, measurements and inspections in the electrotechnical field.

The LCOE belongs to the FFII (Fundación para el Fomento de la Innovación Industrial), a private non-profit foundation created in 1992 at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE LCOE:

— 1949: Establishment of the LCOE as an Electrical Verification Laboratory
— 1952-1957: Creation of the Calibration and High Voltage Laboratory.
— 1981-1988: Creation of the Automotive, Household Appliances and Luminaires Laboratories.
— 1989: RELE accreditation (prior to ENAC) according to EN 45001 for the labs. HA, TRON, LUM.
— 1991: EMC Laboratory as Competent body and Notified Body.
— 1992: EMC Laboratory as Competent body and Notified Body.
— 1992: Change of legal status to Foundation (FFII)
— 1993: ENAC Accreditation for High Voltage and EMC
— 1996: Recognition in the IEC/CB agreement for HA, TRON, LUM
— 1999: 50th Anniversary
— 2001: New laboratories at the Getafe I site
— 2002: ENAC accreditation according to ISO/EN 17025.
— 2005: Project for the new facilities of TECNOGETAFE’s head office
— 2011: Relocation and start of activities at the TECNOGETAFE site
— 2019: 70th Anniversary
— 2022: We continue to be fully active, offering services to industry and expanding our testing capacity with new fields in the automotive, railway, electromedical, etc. sectors.
